Adult Children

Enjoy the great history, food and fun of Philadelphia with the family. With so much activity buzzing about the city, there is always something to do. Get the most of Philadelphia’s charm and culture by taking advantage of various deals, happy hour cuisine and drinks, family specials and group prices and enjoy all the city has to offer.

Take in some American history at the newest museum on the Philadelphia scene, Museum of the American Revolution. Children under 5 are admitted for free and discounted rates are available for kids. Visit the museum’s many exhibits and watch children of all ages join the Sons of Liberty and play soldier aboard the privateer ship.

Get some fresh air with free fun at Franklin Square, one of William Penn’s first five squares. This family park features Philly-themed miniature golf, two playgrounds, a restored marble fountain and an old-fashioned carousel.

Stop for some sweets and snacks at Franklin Fountain. Located in the Historic District, this throwback ice cream parlor offers homemade ice cream, shakes, splits, fountain sodas, sundaes and seasonal baked goods. Be sure to stop in the city’s oldest candy store, Shane Confectionery. Established in 1911, Shane Confectionary boasts ornately carved cabinetry, old-fashioned glass case counters and a well-dressed staff to match. Watch candies being made and take some for the road.

From winter to summer, Penn’s Landing always has something fun to check out. Get your skates on and hit the Blue Cross River RiverRink during Summerfest. Stroll along Spruce Street Harbor Park and check out the pop-up boardwalk complete with vendors, fair food and attractions. Relax in the hammocks by the water and walk along Race Street Pier for free yoga and a view. Winterfest converts the roller rink to an ice skating rink where guests enjoy a spin on the ice before warming up with hot chocolate, outdoor dining and space heaters.
