Courtesy of a night spent at London’s Sea Containers hotel, I had the opportunity to explore the South Bank neighborhood. Let’s dive into some family-friendly highlights:
The London Eye
Considered the world’s most iconic ride, this London landmark is 443 feet high and operates as an observation wheel to the public. Offering stunning views of Big Ben and overlooking the River Thames, rides usually last about 30 minutes. There are exactly 32 passenger pods to represent the same number of boroughs in London. You can purchase tickets here, starting at around $34.
The Paddington Bear Experience
Join Paddington Bear and the Brown family for a well-deserved day of fun! This interactive family experience allows guests to step into Paddington’s world and embark on adventures to the some of the stories’ iconic locations. Included in this experience are multiple themed rooms, sensory activities and interactions with characters. The experience lasts approximately 70 minutes and tickets can be purchased here.
Sea Life London Aquarium
Escape London’s summer heat and spend an afternoon in Sea Life London Aquarium. Considered one of the United Kingdom’s top aquariums, guests can visit marine life animals such as sharks, clownfish, stingrays and more than 5,000 different creatures. Purchase tickets here.
The Queens’ Walk
End your fun-filled day with a stroll along Queen’s Walk. The wide, 2-mile promenade alongside River Thames allows for stunning views of the city, all while being serenaded by plenty of street performers. Lots of food trucks and pop-up cocktail bars line the river, offering many different options while in the area.

Enjoy the best of both worlds when you fly with TAP Air Portugal thanks to the Portugal Stopover program. With the program, TAP passengers, whether traveling for business, leisure or both, can stop in Portugal for up to 10 days at no additional airfare on the way to their final destination. What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.
