Commemorate Memorial Day with a family visit to Museum of the American Revolution. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this museum hosts special events and activities throughout Memorial Day weekend, May 24–26.
The museum’s current special exhibit, Banners of Liberty: An Exhibition of Original Revolutionary War Flags, is on display through Aug. 10. Included with regular museum admission, the exhibit features the largest gathering of rare and significant Revolutionary War flags in more than two centuries. Many of these original flags were carried in military campaigns from New England to South Carolina during the war.

Learn more about life during the Revolutionary War through daily performances and talks. Historian Emma Cross shares stories of Revolutionary-era women through engaging discussions. Daily at 11:30 a.m., listen to a 10-minute, pop-up talk about an important sword belonging to General Hugh Mercer. “Meet Joseph Plumb Martin” performances take place daily at 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
