Families traveling to Columbus, Ohio, from Oct. 11 onward can explore a brand-new exhibit centered around the world of Pixar. Held at Center of Science and Industry, The Science Behind Pixar exhibit delves into the science, technology, art and math behind the compelling films from Pixar.
Visitors can walk through 10,000 square feet of space created by Pixar Animation Studios and Museum of Science, Boston. Walk the steps of Pixar’s production process, from modeling to cameras to animation to rendering.
The exhibit also features hands-on activities inspired by films like Toy Story, the first-ever computer-animated feature, and Incredibles 2. Kids can learn how artistry and science intersect at every stage through these exciting films.
Other experiences include the lighting process used in Finding Nemo, the sculpture-to-sketch process and bug’s-eye camera angle used in A Bug’s Life, and more. The exhibition also showcases video interviews with members of Pixar’s production teams, offering first-hand insights into the collaboration between scientists, artists and engineers.
The Science Behind Pixar will be on display at COSI Oct. 11–May 26, 2026.
Beyond this limited-time exhibit, COSI offers a wide range of displays across science, engineering, arts, math and technology, delivering a hands-on and immersive experience for visitors of all ages.
