Plan a family trip to Victoria, British Columbia, and find out why the capital city is known as the City of Gardens.
This garden was created in 1946 by Prince and Princess Abkhazi, on their one-acre property. Today, the public garden boasts native trees, plants and flowers, making the most of the natural landscape. Hours vary by season. Enjoy tea service at the on-site Teahouse during your visit.
Open year-round, these iconic gardens celebrate 120 years in 2024. Set on 55 acres, the space is known for its Sunken Garden and massive Rose Garden, boasting more than 280 varieties of roses. Butchart Gardens hosts a variety of events including summer concerts and Night Illumination, a nighttime light experience.
Finnerty Gardens is located on and maintained by University of Victoria. Free and open to the public year-round, the garden boasts more than 4,000 trees and plants, as well as more than 200 rhododendron species.
Located at Horticulture Centre of the Pacific, these 4-acre gardens opened in 1979 as a public demonstration garden for horticultural education. There are more than 20 garden and conservation areas throughout the space, including a children’s garden and drought-tolerant garden.
This popular attraction is home to more than 70 species of tropical butterflies. The lush gardens also feature tropical flowers, carnivorous plants, poison dart frogs, tortoises, iguanas, flamingos, tropical ducks and free-flying tropical birds.
