The first jellyfish museum in the United States just opened in Pompano Beach, Florida, bringing the underwater world closer to visitors like never before. Family travelers will find up to 25 unique species of jellyfish collected from different corners of the world’s oceans, both cold- and warm-water species. Featured jellyfish include the lion’s mane jellyfish, blueberry jellyfish and egg yolk jellyfish.
The museum goes beyond observation. Explore different zones with immersive 3-D projections, creating the sensation of venturing deep beneath the ocean’s surface. Walls transform into moving currents of light, drifting jellyfish and deep-sea atmospheres that fully surround the senses.
The museum also features scientific and educational displays guiding visitors through the diversity of jellyfish. Kids will learn all about the life of a jellyfish, from its diet to habits to lifespan. Exhibits also delve into both the highly venomous and harmless jellyfish around the world.
Coming this May, the museum will present a show with illusionist Sergey Savka, where magic tricks, captivating performances, unforgettable impressions and more await. This special program will run for a limited time. Laboratory tours and live music evenings are also slated to come to the museum in the coming months.
