Where can family travelers experience a truly unique (and possibly unusual) Halloween tradition? Look no further than Morro Bay, California, a city hosting the annual Witches Paddle
. Just as it sounds, the Witches Paddle sees hundreds of people don witches’ costumes in honor of Halloween before taking to the water on stand-up paddleboards.
Held Oct. 29 at 11 a.m., this fun event invites visitors and locals to embrace their inner witch and magic and dress in their best witch costume. As witches hit the sea, the bay transforms into a vision of a Californian Halloween. While paddleboarding, look for playful sea creatures and other shadows lurking beneath the surface.

The Witches Paddle offers everyone the chance to have a bit of fun while also celebrating the community and giving back. Proceeds from the event support the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County.
To take part in this fun and quirky event, don your favorite witch or warlock costume and meet at Coleman Park, 101 Coleman Drive at the north end of the bay along the Embrarcadero. This year marks the 10th
annual Witches Paddle.
