Travel Tips

As the holiday season approaches, it’s likely over the river and through the woods to Grandma’s – or Aunt Stacy’s, or Uncle Bob’s, or friends who are family’s – place you’ll go. Being the good guest you are, you’ll want to bring a homemade dish to add to the sure-to-be festive spread. But there’s that aforementioned traveling – how to get your dish to your destination in one delicious piece?

Believe it or not, Tupperware is still around, just as it has been for more than 70 years. As Consultant Karen Hauck says, it’s “not your mama’s Tupperware.” In fact, that’s the name of her Tupperware Facebook group, through which she can host parties live and take orders online.

For ideas on how to best transport your homemade dishes to your holiday destinations, we checked in with Karen on five of her favorite Tupperware pieces that make taking your food on the road clean and easy.

Fridgesmart 4-Piece Set

If you’re planning on a crudite platter, Karen suggests this four-piece set. Simply prepare your veggies – and even fruit – and store them in the containers of various sizes to carry along with you. Then, when the fun is over, if there’s any leftover, just pop them back in. “The Fridgesmart 4-Piece Set is good to keep veggies and fruits that are left over fresh for up to two weeks.”

Flavor Saver Container

Tasked with roasting the turkey at home this year, and bringing it with you for everyone to enjoy? Have no fear, the Flavor Saver Container is here! Large enough to hold an entire turkey, chicken or ham, this container features a lift-out tray so you can transfer easily to the table.

Round Container

Though it looks simple enough, this Round Container can save our pie-serving day with its airtight and liquid-tight seal, as well as a sure grip so there’s no risk of dropping. Aside from a single nine-inch pie, this container can also carry brownies, or those ginger spice cookies you’ve whipped up – really any baked item you want to share.

Rectangular Cake Taker

Just like the pie you’re going to serve, you wouldn’t want anything to happen to the cake you baked, either. Enter the Rectangular Cake Taker, which a 9- by13-inch single or double-layer cake fits into. Or, if cupcakes are more your taste, flip the bottom over and take 18 with you on the road.

Vent ’N Serve Medium Shallow Set

Let’s be honest – one of the best things about holiday meals is the leftovers. This set from Tupperware makes it easy to go from the fridge to the microwave in one step, without needing to dirty another dish. After all, the less dishes that need washing during the holidays, the better.
