A visit to Bath, England, should be on every family traveler’s list. A trip isn’t complete without a stop at the Roman Baths. The preserved thermae offer 2,000 years of history.

The facilities were used for public bathing until the end of Roman rule in England in the fifth century A.D. Today, the building houses a museum with exhibits, educational displays, building models and artifacts from the original Roman Baths. Visit Pump Room Restaurant for a meal or afternoon tea. Guests can sample the hot spa water before leaving the Roman Baths. Safe for consumption, the unique water contains 43 minerals and is known for its curative properties.

Those interested in experiencing the thermal waters firsthand may visit nearby Thermae Bath Spa, the only natural thermal hot springs in England where guests can still bathe today.
