Kentucky has a little something to offer everyone — quite a lot, actually — which makes it perfect for family travelers. In 2025, there are plenty of new reasons to explore the Bluegrass State.
Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay, the popular theme park in Louisville, announced some major news for the park in the coming year, from new rides to a whole new themed land made just for families. The new land, which will cover 4,800 square feet, will include three all-new family-themed rides and 10 re-themed rides, giving families with younger children plenty of options. The land will also have two reimagined dining spaces featuring local Kentucky cuisine.
Although the names of the three new family-themed rides have yet to be announced, the park has announced the theme for each one. There will be a train ride to take families on a journey through the wilderness; a bird ride where guests can swing in a bird-shaped car among the treetops along an oval course; and a squirrel ride taking young guests and their families through a beautiful garden, paying homage to one of nature’s cutest animals.
Getting to Kentucky will be easier than ever starting in May when Delta Air Lines restarts a direct flight from New York City to Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, while Air Canada will start a new direct daily flight from Montréal (YUL) to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in the same month.
