Family travelers with a fascination and love of all things space cannot miss THE INFINITE, coming to Seattle-Tacoma May 25. The first and largest collective virtual reality experience of its kind, THE INFINITE will take place at Tacoma Armory, taking visitors on a 60-minute journey through space.
The experience will allow guests to wander freely inside a full-scale replica of the International Space Station to bring visitors closer than ever before to the feeling of being in outer space. Through the interactivity between virtual reality, multimedia art, physical objects, soundscapes, light design and scents, audiences will be transported to another world altogether.
THE INFINITE saw success in Montreal and Houston and, upon its arrival to the Pacific Northwest, hopes to wow more audiences. THE INFINITE is an extension of the recent Primetime Emmy award-winning series, Space Explorers: The ISS Experience. This series, which holds the record as the largest production ever filmed in space, incorporates more than 250 hours of footage documenting the lives of eight international astronauts inside and outside the ISS.
The installation coming to Seattle-Tacoma will include footage from the first-ever cinematic spacewalk captured in 3-D, 360-degree virtual reality. This footage, shot outside of the ISS on Sept. 12, 2021, provides visitors with a unique experience aboard the ISS.
THE INFINITE will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visit here to purchase tickets to the event.
