Summer is the perfect time for family travel, and more people are planning summer vacations. WalletHub, the personal finance website, released its report on 2022’s Best Summer Travel Destinations to help families plan the perfect family getaway this summer.
WalletHub compared 100 metro areas across 43 key indicators of budget and fun friendliness. The report looks at set ranges, from the cost of flights to COVID-19 cases to the number of attractions.
The Top 20 Summer Travel Destinations include:
- Orlando, Florida
- Washington, D.C.
- Tampa, Florida
- Austin, Texas
- Salt Lake City, Utah
Some other key findings include: The average flight to a popular summer destination costs about $356 and lasts about three hours and 34 minutes; the Los Angeles metro area is the most attractive destination on the West Coast, while Washington, D.C., is the most attractive destination on the East Coast; and Florida and Texas have the most top domestic destinations with at least two areas in the top 15. Additionally, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas offer the most attractions for travelers, whereas Orlando, Honolulu, and Miami feature the most activities.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
