Loreto on Land

This small town is considered safe, quiet and walkable, making it a perfect destination for family travelers. On land, explore the area by hiking and biking the nearby mountains and deserts. Local, trusted tour guides at Loreto Sea and Land Tours take travelers around the region to showcase Loreto’s beauty and history. In the center of town, discover the historic Loreto Mission, founded in 1697. A museum connects to the mission to allow visitors to learn more about the history of the building and how it continues today as a working church.

Loreto at Sea

Plan for a day of snorkeling and scuba diving in the calm waters of the Gulf of California. The tranquil sea makes it a great spot for kids to swim. Venturing into the waters allows travelers to explore local wildlife and marine life, including dolphins, whales and sea lions on guided tours. Or, if you prefer to see the wildlife from above, hop on a kayak in the Bay of Loreto National Marine Park with tour operators like Vive Loreto Tours. ABT Sailing offers more upscale excursions around the bay in a luxurious catamaran.
