The incoming warm weather means festival season starts, no matter where you happen to travel. For your upcoming getaway, consider these unique, family-friendly spring festivals.

Fiesta San Antonio

Starting as a single parade in 1891, Fiesta San Antonio now celebrates everything San Antonio has to offer. Held April 19–29, you can expect a carnival filled with exciting rides and bright lights, culinary events highlighting the region’s mouthwatering cuisine, the annual Fiesta Flower Show, live music in every genre, a masquerade party, charity walks and 5ks, a car show and so much more.

Memphis in May International Festival

Every week of May in Memphis offers something new to explore and discover. The Beale Street Music Festival, May 4–6, features favorites like Alanis Morissette, Tyler the Creator, Jack White, Ludacris, Franz Ferdinand, All Time Low, Misterwives and more. The city’s International Salute to Czech Republic is May 7–13, with performances, exhibits, lectures, cinema, culinary events and more all focused on this year’s honored country. Foodies won’t want to miss the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, May 16–19. It all sums up with the Great American River Run and 901Fest, May 26.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

A visit to Disney doesn’t have to be all princesses and Dole Whip. Disney’s annual flower festival features plenty of flower sculptures and topiary displays, but also guided tours focused around the natural attractions, outdoor kitchens and the Garden Rocks concert series. Now in its 25th year, the event is going on now and lasts through May 28.

Around the World Embassy Tour

While not necessarily a multiday festival, the Washington, D.C., embassy tour, which comes around once a year in early May, is a can’t-miss spring event for families living or traveling nearby. Embassies in the area are open May 5 for a limited time to give a glimpse at the embassy’s culture, cuisine and more. This year’s participating embassies include Angola, Australia, Azerbaijan, the Bahamas, Bangladesh, Belize, Benin, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Kosovo, Mexico, Nepal, Oman, Peru, the Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Thailand and Uganda. Better yet, the event is free!

Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival

If you missed cherry blossom season in Washington, D.C., head to Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden hosts a late-April weekend of Japanese performances, activities, dining, shopping and more. You can catch this event April 28–29, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
