San Antonio Zoo, already known for its impressive exhibits and family-friendly atmosphere, prepares two new attractions, must-sees for your family travel to this culturally rich city.

The zoo’s newest area, Neotropica, will debut this fall. This attraction will recreate the Neotropical regions of the area with heavy influences from pre-Hispanic history. Designed to look like a remote fishing village, the area will connect to several of the zoo’s habitats, creating a natural environment that will allow animals to experience their native environments and give visitors the opportunity to view the animals as they would be found in nature.

The jaguars, some of the zoo’s most fascinating inhabitants, will really benefit from this new area, as their habitat will expand to be included in Neotropica. These majestic animals will use the zoo’s other new attraction, Pantera Walk, to access Neotropica along with other areas. This unique catwalk, also expected to debut in the fall, will be the first of its kind. The overhanging walkway will give the jaguars a way to cross from one area of their habitat to another, while giving zoo guests a one-of-a-kind way to view the animals. This feature is designed to foster instinctual behavior, like lounging and hunting in the forest canopy as they would in their natural environment.

With ever-growing habitats and attractions such as these, it is no wonder San Antonio Zoo ranks No. 2 in the country, thanks to its impressive conservation efforts and its ability to create a fun and positive family experience without compromising the health and safety of the animals.

San Antonio Zoo is open daily and standard admission, which will include these upcoming attractions, is $21.73 for guests 12 and up and $17.16 for guests ages 3–11.
