Leaving your furry best friend behind can be hard while traveling with the family. This year, celebrate National Dog Day (Aug. 26) with a trip to one of these cities with pet-friendly accommodations, perfect for a trip with your dog.
New York
With four locations throughout the city (POD 39, POD Times Square, POD 51 and POD BK), New York has plenty of accommodations for your furry friends. POD hotels pride themselves on accommodating all types of travelers, including dogs. For $25 a night, guests can bring along furry friends (less than 25 pounds) to take on the big city.
Victoria, British Columbia
At Hotel Grand Pacific, guests can book the Pampered Pooch Package and treat their dog to a memorable experience in one of the pet-friendly rooms. Guests pay a $50 fee, which includes a plush doggy bed, water bowls, all-natural organic doggie treats, a disposable doggie clean-up kit and more.
San Francisco, California
Bring your furry friends along on your next trip to San Francisco and stay at Hotel Nikko. The hotel’s rooftop features a grassy terrace for pets to play in the fresh air. The hotel’s Canine Operating Officer, Buster, is a popular face at the hotel, greeting guests upon arrival and even joining your dog for a friendly playdate.
Santa Barbara, California
Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort has a special four-legged team member, Franklin, director of pet services, who ensures all canine guests receive the treatment they deserve. The hotel has refreshing water stations for pets, tennis balls and treats at check-in, and a gourmet dog-friendly menu.
St. Lucia
At Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort, families can enjoy the picturesque Mediterranean village, 64,000 square feet of white sand and views of the Caribbean with their furry friends. This resort understands dogs should be included in every memorable vacation, so for a fee of $100 per day, your less-than-50-pound dog can enjoy a stay filled with a cozy dog bed, water bowl, treats and more.
