North America

Santa Barbara is famous for its beautiful beaches and year-round fantastic weather, but what you may not know is it is also home to a thriving culinary scene, combining the talents of creative chefs with local seafood and farm-fresh fare, making eating out reason enough for family travelers to visit this California destination.

The next time you are in this beach haven, check out these beloved favorites the locals swear by:

Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach

This oceanfront eatery has everything — scenery, affordable prices and an incredible selection of menu items for the whole family. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, making it convenient to grab a bite to eat whenever you crave a delicious meal with a side of ocean breeze.

Arnoldi’s Cafe

One of Santa Barbara’s oldest restaurants, Arnoldi’s is a local favorite for special-event dinners like wedding rehearsals. This Italian eatery features a relaxing patio, allowing you to enjoy the delectable cuisine in the fresh evening air. You can even play a round of bocce ball in between bites.

Loquita

This charming, not to mention popular, restaurant is the perfect way to experience Santa Barbara’s farm-fresh cuisine, with a nod to its Spanish heritage with delicate tapas dishes and an incredible selection of Spanish wines. A romantic dinner on the patio or in the cozy dining room is the perfect way for mom and dad to unwind from a day of seeing sites.

Cajé Coffee Roaster

One look at the line and you’ll know you are in the right place. There is a reason locals flock to this place for their morning coffee fix. Whether it’s coffee or smoothies, bagels or bowls, the menu at Cajé’s four locations across town is perfect for fueling your day.
