Sesame Street Day started as an honorary holiday in New York City to commemorate the show’s 40th anniversary, but Beaches Resorts turned the holiday into an opportunity for family travelers to have an extra special day with their favorite characters.
Thanks to the resort’s exclusive partnership with Sesame Street, young guests can participate in Camp Sesame as part of the family’s inclusive resort package. This incredible kids’ program lets them vacation with their on-screen buddies like Elmo and Oscar the Grouch, with daily activities like baking with Cookie Monster and puppet making with Bert and Ernie. Each week, the resort hosts a character parade. Every night, kids can enjoy their very own stage show featuring the show’s characters.
Children on the autism spectrum get to interact with a character they can easily relate to: Julia. Julia offers her own activity for kiddos, such as Amazing Art with Julia. Four-year-old Julia, a Sesame Street character with autism, is great at teaching kids on the spectrum how to express themselves with art. She is the perfect pairing for the autism training every staff member at Beaches Resorts goes through as part of the company’s autism awareness program.
In addition to these experiences, all included with the family’s vacation package, there are also VIP Sesame Street experiences including special extras like all-access character photo shoots, nightly tuck-ins from your child’s favorite Sesame Street resident, and character breakfasts to get the kiddos primed for a day of fun.
