Dublin, Ireland, may draw many tourists over the summer months, but the city serves as a wholesome destination for family travelers in winter, with an array of exciting events for the entire family to enjoy. Here are four reasons to visit the historic Irish city this holiday season:

Christmas at the Castle

Running Dec. 8–21, Dublin Castle goes all out for the holidays. In addition to a boutique, open-air Christmas market, the castle also hosts different choirs, including Sea of Change Choir, Cantairí Oga Atha Cliath and Garda Ladies Choir. Guests also enjoy on-site food vendors and Christmas drinks from the on-site bar. Stalls feature decorative crafts and artisan products, while kids can ride the vintage carousel.

Coca-Cola Real Magic Christmas Experience

On Dec. 8, 9 and 10, head to Simmonscourt, located just south of Dublin city center, to enjoy the return of the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas truck. The experience includes local food vendors, festive experiences and other exciting activities for the family to enjoy. On each day, the event offers two sessions: 2–5 p.m. (session one) and 6:30–9:30 p.m. (session two).

Christmas at Bewley’s Café

Perhaps one of the most beautiful cafés in Europe, Bewley’s Café anticipates a fun-filled evening on Nov. 25. Open 5–9 p.m., the café welcomes Santa with a unique grotto experience, complete with a special gift for each child who visits. The event also includes a Christmas market and live performance of Christmas songs from Irish singer Kylabelle. Purchase of a ticket also includes complimentary hot chocolate.

Noël – Mornington Singers Christmas Concert

Held in the historic Christ Church Cathedral, this concert sees Mornington Singers and Orla Flanagan fill the beautiful cathedral with music. On Dec. 10, enjoy an array of Christmas carols from across the centuries. Book tickets here.

Family travel means something different for each type of family, but for those of us with dogs, it takes on a whole meaning. Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
