Family travelers should take advantage of Wyoming’s secret season. March and April are the snowiest months in the state, making many winter activities last into spring. The warmer temperatures open up further opportunities. Check out six ways to discover Wyoming’s secret season.

Skiing

Many popular resorts offer skiing through early April, before closing for the season. Lift tickets tend to be lower from late February through early April compared to the busy season. Popular resorts include Snowy Range Ski Resort, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Meadowlark Ski Lodge.

Snowmobiling

Many snowmobiling trails receive enough snow to stay open through mid-March or later. Visit the Wyoming State Trails website for maps and up-to-date information about trail conditions.

Hot Springs

While most hot springs are open year-round, the springs are especially enjoyable when the air is cooler. There are plenty of options, depending on your preference, including Hot Springs State Park, Saratoga Resort & Spa, Granite Hot Springs and Boiling River Hot Springs.

Spa

If indulging in a spa treatment is more your speed, make your way to Snow King Resort. The luxury property is set to debut its new 9,000-square-foot spa this year.

Museums

Experience Wyoming’s cultural attractions by visiting some of its museums. National Museum of Military Vehicles recently opened the Poolaw Building, with a collection of exhibitions, a cafeteria and audio/visual presentations.

Dining, Drinking and Shopping

There are plenty of unique restaurants, bars and shopping options throughout the state. Cheyenne, Casper, Green River, and Sheridan all boast charming downtowns full of dining, drinking and shopping opportunities.
