The opulence and allure of Dubai has been a major draw for business travelers, fashionistas and everyone in between. The otherworldly attractions and over-the-top resorts may be perfect for impressing clients and high-profile guests, but who is more high profile than your own family? Check out Dubai’s underrated family-friendly attractions on your next big trip.

Dubai Desert Safari

The Dubai Safari has been one of the most highly anticipated new attractions for families in Dubai, so much so the initial response was overwhelming. Since the response from visitors during the soft opening, Dubai Safari altered the schedule to accommodate families and create a better experience for guests daily. The Dubai Safari welcomes families only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The wildlife conservation built on a former landfill site is now a completely eco-friendly park providing family-friendly activities, wildlife attractions and conservation efforts toward a more sustainable future.

Aquaventure Waterpark

Kids of all ages — adults included — enjoy the fast-paced fun of Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis, The Palm. Check out the park’s thrilling rides, including one fan favorite, a shark lagoon ride rushing brave guests in a tube through the water.

Smaller children are welcome on the tamer rides in the Splashers Children’s Play Area. They can cool off in the water and enjoy the private beach away from the big-kid rides. Sneak away with the little ones and enjoy the Palm’s calm waterways and a spot under the sun.

Kite Beach

Bring the kids to Kite Beach and experience a completely unique, kid-centric outdoor space. Let the kids hit the Skate Park and outdoor trampolines or head to the adventure gym. Bring the smaller children to their own designated play area, or bring the whole family out for a swim. Refuel back at the food trucks and canteens along the beach.

City Walk

A trip to Dubai wouldn’t be complete without at least one shopping trip. Head to the European-style streets of the City Walk and stroll along from store to store, as the area spans nearly 1 million square feet. Stop in designer shops and fine-dining establishments lining the streets — all with the city skyscrapers and views in the near distance.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.

Some of Europe’s Best Day Cruises

A week cruising along the Danube or the Rhine may be the stuff of dreams for many, but family travelers can enjoy views from the water in ways kinder to the family budget. Many riverside cities offer scenic cruises, and some Baltic or Mediterranean ports have daytrips to nearby islands or coastal attractions. In several cities you can cruise the canals, and in Switzerland you can spend a day cruising on Lake Geneva, with sightseeing stops in lakeside towns.
