Prepare for your family’s spring break this year with some advice from TravelInsurance.com. There are a number of reasons why travel insurance is an important consideration for spring break travelers and co-founder Stan Sanberg has some advice about making the important purchase for spring break this year.
Spring break travel is one of the busiest travel seasons of the year and, like any busy travel time, increased airline traffic can cause potential delays, flight cancelations and lost or delayed luggage. Trip cancelation, trip interruption, trip delay and baggage coverage can offset the financial impact of those types of unexpected travel mishaps.
For spring breakers traveling to ski destinations, unexpected snow storms can disrupt trips, but travel insurance can provide reimbursement for lost days or additional travel expenses due to a weather delay or cancelation. Some plans can also pay an inconvenience fee if a majority of the ski resort’s trails are closed due to lack of snow.
Sometimes unexpected injuries can pop up while traveling, especially for those hitting the slopes. Emergency medical expenses and medical evacuation coverage may be necessary on these types of trips. As long as the ski or snowboard accident occurs on a resort’s trails, a medical emergency plan can cover the medical costs of an accidental injury.
