Seaside Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives recently announced the addition of two new experiences for family travelers. The Art Lab and Teens Hut are visionary spaces created through a collaboration with Singapore-based KulörGroup and London’s Muza Lab. These immersive environments evolve artistic exploration and are inspired by organic forms from the ocean, the island’s natural landscape and both embody Finolhu’s playful spirit.
Art Lab
The new Art Lab is a first-of-its-kind creative sanctuary offering a sculptural, barnacle-inspired structure with lush island foliage. The trio of intersecting circular pods create a space that flows organically and encourages free movement and artistic immersion.
Travelers of all ages can participate in daily workshops including painting, fabric dyeing, resin art, soap and candle making, and pottery with throwing wheels and kilns. Each workshop is led by skilled instructors and resident artists. The sun-drenched communal creation table is at the heart of Art Lab, illuminated by an overhead skylight.
Teens Hut
Teens Hut is a two-story escape designed to blend naturally into the surroundings, offering teen travelers their own space for discovery, connection and fun. Teens Hut was specifically designed for guests aged 12–17 and includes gaming zones with the latest consoles, a bar serving mocktails and hosting mocktail-making classes, and a lounge to hang out and have movie nights. It also has an outdoor recreation space and a music studio with instruments, a stage and karaoke machine.

Perhaps you are on family travel with an older family member with limited mobility or you’re on crutches from an accident (as I was on a recent trip to Portugal). Airports and airlines are prepared for that, with free wheelchair assistance to see passengers from the check-in counter to their seats on the plane.
