MSC Cruises’ MSC Grandiosa recently arrived at Port Canaveral to begin week-long sailings to the Caribbean and Bahamas from the Central Florida port. As the second of the family travel favorite’s ships based at Port Canaveral, MSC Grandiosa joins MSC Seashore, which shifts to three- and four-day cruises.
“MSC Grandiosa’s arrival marks a major milestone for us. This is the first time we’ve had two ships sailing from Port Canaveral and the first time a Meraviglia-plus Class ship has come to the U.S.,” said Lynn Torrent, president, MSC Cruises North America. “I want to thank our partners at Port Canaveral for supporting our continued investment in the region, which is making it easier than ever for guests to enjoy MSC Cruises’ mix of European style and American comfort.”
The 181,000-ton MSC Grandiosa is the largest MSC Cruises ship to operate from Port Canaveral. It can accommodate more than 6,300 passengers with a wide range of dining, entertainment and activity options; open-air recreation areas that include a sprawling water park; and other family-friendly amenities. The ship features 2,421 staterooms and suites served by more than 1,700 crew members, including the exclusive MSC Yacht Club with private butler service.
MSC Grandiosa offers two seven-day options: a Bahamas/eastern Caribbean itinerary calling at destinations like Nassau, MSC’s Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, Puerto Plata and San Juan; and a western Caribbean/Bahamas route featuring Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Falmouth and Nassau. Combine the seven-day cruises for a 14-day sailing round-trip from Port Canaveral.
