Must-Visit Aquariums this Summer

Nothing excites little kids more than seeing one of their favorite animals up close. Allow your family travel to take your group on an adventure this summer to some of the best aquariums in the United States.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Located in Clearwater, Florida, Clearwater Marine Aquarium recently announced an all-new summer program event, Summer Glow. When the sun starts to set, the aquarium transforms into a summer celebration every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, through July 30. The series is the aquarium’s newest celebration of summer, offering live entertainment, family fun and a free boat ride where you can catch a glimpse of beautiful marine wildlife.

Birch Aquarium

This summer, Birch Aquarium at Scripps in San Diego will debut the little blue penguins exhibit. With the addition of Beyster Family Little Blue Penguins habitat, the addition makes Birch Aquarium the only one in the Western United States to house the world’s smallest penguins. The little blue penguins are less than 12 inches tall, weigh only 2–3 pounds, and are known for their unique blue color and big personalities. Guests will be immersed into the world of the little blue penguins by learning some of the challenges these birds face in the wild and how our future is directly related to theirs. The exhibit will feature a small amphitheater for guests to observe the birds, as well as a discovery cave for children to observe the little blue penguins closely.

The Aquarium of the Pacific

In Long Beach, California, The Aquarium of the Pacific welcomes its new Babies! exhibit. The new exhibit allows visitors to meet some adorable new arrivals, including baby sea otters, color-changing cuttlefish, miniature sea jellies and more. The aquarium invites guests to learn about its breeding programs, which promote ocean conservation. The Babies! exhibit seeks to educate visitors on the endangered animal babies living at the aquarium and the special care they receive to help rebuild their wild populations.
