So you’ve decided to take the family to Italy for the summer. Don’t try to cram everyone into one or two hotel rooms. A villa can be exactly what you need to make this Italian summer vacation superior to all the others.
Villas often offer more value for the price, more space for everyone to spread out and more overall privacy. Additionally, especially in this area, luxury hotels fill up fast; if you haven’t already booked your late summer Italian getaway, you could find there are few rooms to choose from, and those still available are going for a hefty per-night room rate — as much as $1,000 per night or more. On the flip side, you can still find many private villas available on the Amalfi Coast for rent throughout the rest of the season, into the early fall, so you still have some planning time.
WIMCO, a long-standing luxury villa rental company, adds more and more Italian villas to its portfolio each year. This year, there are dozens of new ones to choose from, including villas on the “smaller” side — by which we mean they’re perfect for a traveling family (particularly multigenerational travelers) or even a small group of friends.
Two of WIMCO’s newest villas give you all the advantages of an Italian villa on the Amalfi Coast — space, style and a great location — for a much lower price than you would find at a luxury hotel nearby. Villa BRV SIR is a three-bedroom property in the hills of Sorrento, a good size for a family or three couples. Amenities at the property include a private pool, al fresco dining spaces and a mosaic-tiled kitchen. The villa is near many of Sorrento’s beach clubs, so you have easy access to the beautiful seashore. In the southeast of Sorrento, the similar Villa BRV ROX is a two-bedroom property with views of the sea. The pool is the best spot at this villa, but if you decide to leave your private oasis, you can easily walk to great dining and drinking spots in Praiano.
The best part? Both of these villas start at less than $400 per bedroom per night.
You can take advantage of a summer special offered by WIMCO if you book an entire vacation bundle with the brand. Enjoy $1,000 off your flights or rental car when you reserve a villa in not only Italy, but all over Europe, with an arrival date before Oct. 12.
