Travel Tips

Need help finding the ultimate summer family travel destination? WalletHub released its report on 2022’s Most Fun States in America. To determine the ranking, WalletHub compared all 50 states across 26 key metrics, ranging from movie costs to the accessibility of national parks. Everyone has a different idea of fun, so WalletHub made sure to consider all types of activities different states offer.

The Top Five Most Fun States in the United States are:

  1. California
  2. Florida
  3. Nevada
  4. New York
  5. Illinois

The study also found California offers the most movie theaters at 6.8 times more than Delaware, which has the fewest. California also boasts the most restaurants, with Alaska the least.

Texas is the state with the most amusement parks, at 17.8 times more than West Virginia, coming in with the least.

If you are looking for a state with access to the most national parks, Alaska or Wyoming are the places to go. As for the state with the most marinas for watersports and boating activities, travelers should head to Florida or Connecticut.

Families with interests in golfing, tennis and other country club activities should look to Michigan and Iowa, the states with the most country clubs available.

Narrow or rough stone-paved streets are not stroller-friendly, either. Save those cities for another year and consider these instead.
