Cruising

Like the rest of the travel industry, cruise lines always look to evolve their product. Norwegian Cruise Line is planning to change the game with the introduction of its newest ship, Norwegian Encore.

No matter what destination you have in mind or what kind of ship experience your family is craving, Norwegian has something to fit your mood. Including the relatively new Breakaway Plus class of ship, Norwegian offers 17 ships across six ship classes sailing to destinations all over the Americas, to Europe and beyond. It even sails to and from Hawai’i with the one-of-a-kind Pride of America.

The biggest change to the line’s fleet in the coming months is the introduction of Encore. The new ship was delivered to Norwegian late last month and begins sailing to the Caribbean at the end of this month.

The new ship is nearly 1,100 feet long and can accommodate 3,998 passengers. For reference, the largest Norwegian ship has a guest capacity of 4,100 passengers.

One of the main factors that sets Norwegian apart from other cruise lines is the close attention it pays to onboard entertainment. From comedians, musicals and magicians to parties on deck and games in lounges, there is never a shortage of things to do on days at sea. The Encore continues this tradition with new ways to stay entertained. The ship includes a production of Kinky Boots, features the longest race track on a cruise ship and has a huge outdoor laser tag arena. Escape room and theater experiences are just the cherries on top for families looking for a great time at sea.

In addition to playing host to tons of great entertainment experiences, the ship is the first in Norwegian’s fleet to eliminate single-use water bottles by way of a partnership with JUST Goods, Inc.

Norwegian’s island, Great Stirrup Cay, offers an excellent opportunity to visit the beach and revel in paradise.

Norwegian also makes it easy for families to cruise without forcing parents to babysit kids for the entire trip. Norwegian offers youth programs for kids, depending on their age. These activities keep kids busy and offer family-friendly activities for the entire group.
