Destinations / North America

Navajo Nation is an area of land in the southwestern United States. Covering about 27,000 square miles, the region in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah currently makes up the largest area of land retained by a tribe within the United States. Home to the Navajo people, the area boasts monuments, parks, markets, trails and historic sites.

There are a variety of outdoor activities and cultural offerings throughout the area. Take part in hiking, horseback riding and fishing. Visit a museum and trading post selling Navajo art. Attend a cultural tour to learn even more about the area. Experience traditional Navajo cuisine at one of the numerous restaurants. Download a free printable map before you plan your visit.

Navajo Nation is a sovereign, self-governing nation. Be sure to read visitor protocol before your trip to remain respectful of the land and its people.

The parks and activities are currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Check back for more information about reopening and future events. In the meantime, consider donating to the official Navajo Nation COVID-19 relief fund.
