Travel Tips

Road trips can be tricky with kids, but with the right music, company and snacks, make it better. Skip the junk food and opt for some healthy snacks to keep everyone going and feeling good:

PeaTos

PeaTos are a delicious junk food alternative — a “junk food” taste without the junk. If you are normally a fan of Cheetos or Funyuns, this is the perfect alternative. The Classic Cheese and Classic Onion are comparable, and even better than the popular snacks. There are two other flavors, Zesty Ranch and Fiery Onion. If you haven’t seen these in stores, use the store locator to help you find them on the road or order in bulk online.

Smart Sweet

For candy lovers who want to cut down on sugar, Smart Sweets are a great alternative. The founder, Tara, is a candy lover herself who experienced the negative effects of what too much sugar can do. Smart Sweets offers alternatives to all your favorites, including Sweetish Fish, Gummy Worms, gummy bears and more.

Pre-Cut Fruits and Vegetables

Before leaving for the road trip, pick up some of your favorite fruits and vegetables to cut up and put in little containers or bags for your family to enjoy on the road. There is nothing better to bring along than fresh fruits and vegetables.

From the Ground Up Cauliflower Snacks

These snacks made out of cauliflower and butternut squash are the perfect alternative to snacks like pretzels, Cheez-Its and tortilla chips. The plant base allows you to enjoy more bites per serving and gives you the satisfaction of snacking without the guilt.
