Travel Tips

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. To honor the anniversary, Disney parks are rolling out new attractions, experiences and more!

Here are a few major changes coming to two beloved Disney parks in 2021:

EPCOT

EPCOT gets a bit of a facelift, including a new fountain at the park entrance; Spaceship Earth’s two-year remodel; new pathways lined with luscious greenery; new interactive experiences; and much more.

Although there are a lot of changes coming to EPCOT in the next few years, the one guests look forward to the most is the new Ratatouille ride, coming to the World Showcase in the France pavilion. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure shrinks guests down to rat size while they scurry around the kitchen trying to help Remy.

The first Moana attraction makes its way to EPCOT. Watch water come to life as you make your way through the maze, and join the goddess Te Fiti while interacting with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting. Although there is no set opening date for this experience, it is expected to open in 2021.

A new dining experience is headed to the park, as well. Enjoy a delicious meal at the new Space 220 restaurant coming to Future World East. The new restaurant will be located by Mission Space and offers delicious food and 360-degree views of the galaxy.

Magic Kingdom

Although the park has focused on the addition of the new Tron Lightcycle Power Run Rollercoaster, there was recently a really big announcement regarding one of the oldest and most beloved rides in Adventureland — Splash Mountain. The Song of the South theme is out and The Princess and the Frog theme is in. With new Disney movies rolling out one after the other, the Imagineers and Disney corporation are trying to come up with ways to update the park and incorporate its newer movies.

Even though these are just a few changes happening at Walt Disney World Resort, keep an eye out for more changes and announcements.
