Amazon Prime recently debuted its A League of Their Own series. Fans of the show and the original movie can visit Rockford, Illinois, home of the Rockford Peaches. While the show may be fiction, the Peaches were a real women’s professional team, part of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Rockford celebrates the team’s place in history with a nostalgic fan trail.

Visit Beyer Stadium, home to the Rockford Peaches from 1943 to 1954. Today, women’s baseball team the Rockford Starfires plays at the stadium. The Midway Village Museum showcases The Girls of Summer exhibit with Peaches memorabilia. Stop by Sinnissippi Park, where the Peaches would enjoy picnics and play short games for practice. Check out the Peaches Mural in the Midtown District. Completed in July 2022, the mural depicts team members in action. Have a cold one at Prairie St. Brewing Co. The oldest brewery in Illinois features a Peach Wheat Beer in honor of the team.
