This holiday season, plan family travel to Gaylord Rockies Resort from Nov. 24 to Jan. 2, 2026. Using more than 2 million pounds of ice, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas will be brought to life in ice sculpture form by a team of 40 world-class ice artisans from Harbin, China.

Guests embark on a journey through hand-carved ice sculptures depicting scenes from Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, from the Grinch’s mountaintop lair and his sneaky sleigh ride into Whoville, to the Whos’ joyful celebration and the moment his heart grows three sizes. The attraction features five, two-story-tall interactive ice slides.

Carvers work approximately six weeks to create the nearly 17,000 square foot frozen attraction. The artisans, using skills passed down through generations, follow a 300-page design book to create the ice spectacle. Ice carvings range in size from details as tiny as a coin to soaring scenes more than 30 feet tall. The environment will be kept frozen by a state-of-the-art chilling system that maintains the attraction’s temperature at 9 degrees Fahrenheit. Guests sport a signature blue parka to stay warm.

While ICE! is the main attraction, there are plenty other merry activities, including

Candy Cane Mountain Indoor Snow Tubing and Gumdrop Gliders Ice Puck Challenge, with high-speed fun on an indoor snow tubing hill; Feast with the Grinch; Festival of Trees holiday fundraiser featuring beautifully decorated trees available for auction with proceeds benefiting Lantern (formerly Bright by Text); The Grinch’s Wonderful Awful Idea Scavenger Hunt with hidden clues throughout the resort; Gingerbread Decorating Corner; Elf Training Academy to learn how to become one of his helpers; Yuletide Street Market in Mistletoe; and much more.

Overnight guests can enjoy Chill Pass privileges to ICE!, with front-of-line access and shorter wait times.
