The Craft of Poke
Learn the craft of Hawai’i’s most iconic dish with a two-hour culinary immersion led by Executive Chef Reid Matsumura. The Craft of Poke blends hands-on techniques with cultural storytelling. Learn about poke’s evolution from its traditional roots to new interpretations shaped by the culinary influences of today. Guests will also have the opportunity to create their own poke by learning how to select the freshest ingredients and master the technique of balancing ingredients and seasonings.
The Art of Lāʻī
During The Art of the Lāʻī, participants learn the sacred tradition of the Hawaiian ti leaf from a local cultural specialist. The experience includes learning the proper way to gather the plant while hearing about its medicinal, ceremonial and spiritual significance. A traditional lei-making workshop follows, where travelers will craft a hilo-style ti leaf lei using traditional twisting techniques.

The Story of Mānoa
Guests looking for the perfect blend of cultural exploration and restorative wellness need look no further than The Story of Mānoa. Embark on a private excursion to Mānoa Falls to discover the valley’s legends while hearing stories of Kahalaopuna (rainbow), Kahaukani (wind) and Kauakuahine (rain).
