North America

Wyoming is an excellent destination for family travelers, especially during winter. The state boasts award-winning ski resorts and winter activities. With fewer crowds and new direct flights, Wyoming is the perfect winter wonderland getaway.

There are plenty of outdoor experiences for active travelers. Wyoming combines two popular sports, skiing and horseback riding, into a unique activity: skijoring. Travelers can view competitive skijoring at Sheridan WYO Winter Rodeo, Sundance Winter Festival, Saratoga Skijoring Races and Pinedale Winter Carnival.

If you want to hit the slopes — or are more interested in après ski — Wyoming is home to several ski resorts. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will debut a faster, more powerful chairlift ahead of its 2022/2023 winter season, cutting ride times almost in half. Grand Targhee Resort opens new terrain construction for the first time in more than 20 years. Snow King Mountain recently unveiled a new gondola and zipline. The resort plans further enhancements, including a new summit restaurant, observatory and planetarium. Its new spa plans to open in December.

American Airlines launched new seasonal service from Miami (MIA) to Jackson Hole (JAC) this winter, Dec. 15–April 3. Service will operate daily Dec. 15–Jan. 9, weekly Jan. 10–Feb. 15, and daily Feb. 16–April 3.
