A new luxury retreat opens in Westchester County and you can be one of the first to stay there. The Abbey Inn & Spa is a boutique property with 42 guestrooms and suites, a farm-to-table restaurant and full-service spa. The hotel was previously a 1902 convent for the Episcopal Sisters of Saint Mary’s and sits on Fort Hill, a Revolutionary War landmark.
If you’re coming in from Manhattan, The Abbey Inn is even more convenient, as it’s an hour drive from Midtown.

Curious kids will find plenty to do in Westchester County.
Catch EagleFest at Croton-On-Hudson, celebrating the bald eagle’s return to the Hudson Valley, including bird-of-prey shows, wild eagle observations, food trucks and activities for kids of all ages.

Visit the Wolf Conservation Center for a plethora of kid-friendly programming. Winter Wolves events teach about wolf families and their mythology, biology and ecology, and give families the chance to visit with ambassador wolves. If you have younger children, you’ll want to book tickets for the Winter Wolves for Kids experience, which takes place on several February dates.
The Greenburgh Nature Center likewise provides nature-inspired activities for kids in February. Winter nature walks lead guests across forest trails to discover winter wildlife, while feeding sessions allow families to join the center’s naturalists for some hands-on learning. One special event to plan for next year, Maple Sugar at Home experience. Guests discover the history of maple sugaring and learn how to adopt some of the same maple sugaring techniques for use at home.
Creative kids will enjoy LegoLand Discovery Center Westchester. Take a Lego factory tour, hop on some great rides, check out amazing Lego creations and, of course, build your own.
Eat
For fine dining, look to two-Michelin-star winner Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown.
Other restaurants in Westchester County recently received a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction, an award which recognizes a restaurant’s “affordable and remarkable dining experience.” These include Dubrovnik, Maria Restaurant, Shiraz Kitchen, The Cookery and Southern Table.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal.
