TSA-approved, quart-sized liquids carry-on bag with travel-sized bottles 3.4 ounces or less? …
For many, the quart-sized carry-on is one of the most difficult and irritating parts of travel, especially with children and when staying for a few nights. The shapes and sizes of the bottles may not exactly fit perfectly into the plastic bag, and many travelers end up having to throw out liquids that do not adhere to the strict TSA guidelines. This is especially aggravating when you have no choice other than to throw out your favorite face wash or foundation. Here’s a list of tips and tricks travelers can use to make the most of their liquids bags without sacrificing favorite hygiene staples.

Solid Alternatives
Companies like Lush Cosmetics are known for creating organic beauty products in new ways that actually provide the body with more nutrients and less chemicals than liquid products. Solid shampoo and conditioner are two of its more well-known products sold in stores. They come in all different formulas catering to different types of hair.
This is a great alternative to liquid shampoo and conditioner most people do not think of and they last even longer than your typical bottle. If you don’t want to spend the money, there are plenty of recipes online for creating your own solid shampoo. In addition to shampoo and conditioner, swap your body wash for a bar of soap and your foundation for a solid foundation. The same goes for all deodorant and makeup brands.
You will not only save a lot of money on overpriced “mini bottles,” you’ll create a healthier shampoo formula your whole family can use.
Contact Cases
One of the most creative space saving carry-on hacks is not just for liquids but can be used for small items such as earrings, jewelry, pills and vitamins. Use contact cases for some of the liquids you don’t need a large amount of, including makeup remover, face moisturizer or medicines.
The options are endless, and save travelers a lot of money. This tip is especially useful for picky children that require a different flavor of toothpaste than their sibling, or for stubborn teens who feel the need to pack their whole makeup routine on a short trip.
Research
Research might be the most obvious answer to limiting the amount of liquids in your carry-on bag, but it is one of the most overlooked. Most hotels provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion in the bathrooms. However, travelers may also have access to toothpaste, shaving cream, mouthwash, razors and other toiletries upon request. Call ahead of time to make arrangements for the housekeepers to stock your room with them.
Look ahead of time to see what kinds of shops and stores are around your final destination. You may be staying right next to a cheap drug store and don’t need to plan out your liquid carry-on items after all.
