Budget

The holiday season is a time for family and spreading cheer. With everything going on this year, some of your normal holiday traditions may be put on hold, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the holidays with family.

Here are some socially distant holiday traditions that can be done from your own home.

Matching Family Pajamas

One of my favorite holiday traditions is getting matching pajamas every Christmas — even my aunts and cousins get in on the fun. Matching pajamas make for great pictures around the tree the night before and on Christmas morning. There are plenty of fun, festive matching pajamas in stores and online.

Seeing Christmas Lights

Christmas is an exciting time for the whole family, especially kids. Calm them down (a little) and drive around surrounding neighborhoods to look at the outdoor Christmas lights. Take it to the next level and get the kids glasses that turn the lights into shapes like Santa Claus, Christmas trees and other festive shapes.

Advent Activity Calendar

Instead of buying a regular Advent Calendar, make one on your own that is filled with different activities you can do together as a family. Each day leading up to Christmas, have a holiday-related activity planned for the family. Activities could include watching a holiday movie together, making a holiday craft, doing a puzzle, baking cookies and more. This is the perfect thing to get the family into the holiday spirit and to spend some quality time together.

Holiday Movie Night

Take some time out of your busy schedule to watch holiday movies, new and old. If your children haven’t been introduced to the classics like Home Alone, The Santa Clause or Miracle on 34th Street, now is the perfect time to watch them — don’t forget to throw in some new ones, too!

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
